Weirdly, I have always loved the revision process. Especially when it isn't my own story I'm revising! I am able to take a look at the big picture of your story (that is so easy to lose sight of when you're in the weeds of drafting) and help you achieve the best version of the story you want to tell.
I like to think of developmental editing as a full scale home renovation — you’re tearing down walls. You’re shifting the foundation to make the whole as strong and beautiful as it can be. Meanwhile, line editing is all the pretty finishing touches. And sometimes you need an outside perspective to help you nail that flow and musicality in your writing.
