December’s letter features Victoria, Princess Royal — the eldest daughter of Queen Victoria. The two Vickys had much in common, even though the mother could often be a harsh and domineering force in her daughter’s life. This short story explores how the two Vicky’s coped with their similar fates of loving — and losing — the man they loved too soon. For a festive twist, this story and the rest of the envelope is set against the background of a true Victorian Christmas.

Sign up by the 18th of the current month to get the next month’s issue. If you sign up after the 18th, your subscription will start the month after next.
