I have lived in the pages of books for as long as I can remember. My love of reading began at a young age and it was fiercely nurtured by my local library — their Summer Reading Program was my bread and butter — and my family. My grandmother sent me Highlights magazines and Nancy Drew books. My mom and dad introduced me to series like “Anne of Green Gables,” “Little House on the Prairie,” “The Chronicles of Narnia,” and “Lord of the Rings.” My older brother gave me recommendations and let me explore his shelves of fantasy and science fiction books. I inherited a box of classic novels from my uncle’s college days that cast me into a wider net of genres. Falling into a book and getting lost in another world remains one of my favorite things to this day. And it might have continued to be just that, an appreciation, if Tess hadn’t dragged me into another world. Writing.

Crafting a world and putting words on a page has been such a rewarding experience. I recently finished the first draft of my first novel and have a notes app full of inspiration for new projects that I am promising myself won’t interrupt my revisions. Inksters is the one thing that keeps me honest because the highlight of my month is the time we spend together discussing each other’s stories.

Other than a brief stint studying abroad in England, I have lived my whole life in the Pacific Northwest. I grew up in Port Angeles, Washington, next to the Olympic National Park, and currently reside near Portland, Oregon with my husband Tom and our cat Lyra. My greatest aspiration in life is being the person people ask for book recommendations, and my greatest fear is that no matter how many times that I play, I will never win a game of Dune: Imperium.

Magic has been outlawed for 136 years and any rumor that makes it to the Hunters Guild has been tracked down and stamped out, but it still shines within the outskirts. The Informe live deep in those outskirts. Their communities are broken into shards, but their magic lives on…for now. The king is aging, will his rule finally pass to the crown prince who has been waiting for much too long? Long enough for his excitement to rule to sour into a need to possess. To dominate.

Elisia lives in a world too small for her liking. Her father has hidden his Informe family in plain sight in the middle of the capital city. She chafes under the strict upbringing that insists that she hide her shapeshifting abilities. Secretly, she sets in motion a plan to kill a traveling prince so that she can impersonate him and infiltrate the royal family. The persecution of her people started with their laws and decrees. If she can tear them down from the inside, the Informe can finally be free.

Didiane lives in a world apart. The daughter of the king, she spends her days in her family’s summer estate. She is keeping a secret from her family and a ghostly visitor soon makes her think this secret isn’t as innocuous as she had hoped. Could she be the curse that is haunting the royal family? There have been too many suspicious deaths to ignore. The prince from a neighboring kingdom that is visiting in hopes of securing a marriage contract with her might be the only person she can trust to help her uncover the truth.
